A few years ago I visited Swildons hole in the Mendip Hills for a caving session and whilst on that trip, apart from having a great time, I found a couple of pieces of pottery and a bone. I took these to the Wells Museum open day for finds and one of the pieces was confirmed to be Roman which was amazing. Roman pottery washed down in to the cave or maybe taken down there, the mind boggles!
I decided that I wanted another look down this amazing cave for treasure and its also a stunning cave to explore. We got a group together and headed down once more.
The video below is of this trip and as you will see we did find more treasure and hopefully inspired a few in our group to explore more caves!
